Liposuction or liposculpture, which is better for me?

The differences between liposuction and liposculpture are little known, although in Spain they are very extended surgical practices due to their relative ease. Liposuction is an intervention through which the adipose tissue that accumulates in certain parts of the body is dissolved. While the liposculpture also implies the modeling of the body but the extracted fat is reused in other parts of the body to which we want to give more volume.

In no case are they alternative interventions to physical exercise and healthy eating habits. Women usually resort to this type of intervention to improve their body contour in the abdomen, hips, waist and thighs. Men, on the other hand, undergo surgery to eliminate fat in the abdomen, chin and pectorals.

The surgery requires a small incision that will allow the introduction of a cannula to break and suction the fat. The surgery lasts between one and two hours and general anesthesia is applied. In any case, liposuction can be combined with liposculpture.

After the operation it is possible that the patient may experience swelling and moderate pain that can be treated with analgesics and that will subside after the first 48 hours. To accelerate the healing, the patient will be recommended to do moderate physical activity and he/she will be able to return to work after 2-3 days. For more intense sports activities it is recommended to wait between one and two months.

In most cases, patients obtain very good results and are satisfied after the procedure.
