Intensive Psychotherapeutic Treatment for Adolescents

The Mental Health Day Hospital is the intensive psychotherapy treatment that a patient receives several hours a day, five days a week. It is intended for those patients for whom an admission is not justified, but for whom an outpatient treatment approach is insufficient.

What does intensive psychotherapeutic treatment for adolescents consist of?

In the treatment we work on all the areas in which an adolescent may have difficulties. We always seek maximum effectiveness; and to achieve this we have to combine the best professionals, be in continuous training and apply the best and most effective therapies.

The Day Hospital seeks to reproduce the way we function in the community, as we do to a greater degree in our society. The adolescents actively participate in the running of the hospital, sharing out tasks and even having their own organizational meetings. Individual therapies are combined with a wide range of group therapies: social skills, occupational therapy, written therapy, animal-assisted therapy, psychodrama, relaxation, healthy living habits, study techniques, etc.

The Complutense Psychotherapy Clinic was recognized at the XVI World Congress of Psychiatry as a national reference in this treatment.

Psychotherapeutic treatment for adolescents

Adolescents learn important values such as teamwork, responsibility towards others, personal knowledge, respect and the value of the person, in order to get the most out of their lives. Given the age of the patients, families also participate in the treatment.

It is incredible to see how the kids who come to treatment suffering on a daily basis, when they are discharged, enjoy their lives. This is what fuels the vocation and the desire to do better every day of the professionals who work at the Day Hospital.
