Clodia© Technique for hydrated, redefined and voluptuous lips

Dr. Natalia Ribé, a renowned specialist in Aesthetic Medicine, has developed her new personal technique, Clodia©, for rejuvenation of the peribuccal area. She explains that it allows for softer, fuller and more hydrated lips.

Importance of the appearance of the lips

The lips are considered one of the main weapons of seduction, as well as the most expressive facial feature. Every time we smile, talk or kiss the focus of attention is on them. However, over the years, the periorbuccal area loses definition due to the loss of collagen, hyaluronic acid and bone and muscle structure, making it an area where the signs of aging are particularly evident.

Clodia© Technique: defined and moisturized lips with natural results

Dr. Dr. Natalia Ribé has developed a new protocol to achieve softer, more voluptuous and hydrated lips, redefining the contour. It is a specific technique, adapted and directed to the needs of each patient, whether male or female, and whether to enhance by providing volume, redefine and perfect the contour, balance and correct asymmetries, rejuvenate or refresh. And all with a common goal: to achieve natural and hydrated lips.

To achieve this, Dr. Natalia Ribé uses subtle, natural results that are in harmony with the rest of the face, giving the lips sensuality and beauty without evidence, a characteristic feature of the doctor’s practice.

Depending on the objective and needs of each patient, Dr. Natalia Ribé will use a specific product to achieve more defined and moisturized lips, either to outline and redefine, for fresher lips or to add volume. Thus, imperfections will be corrected by redefining the contour, providing hydration, a velvety touch and a “wet effect”. This will bring turgidity to the area, as well as a more voluptuous lips.

Origins of the Clodia© technique

Clodia is the name with which Dr. Natalia Ribé has baptized her personal technique of filling, rejuvenation and correction of the lip area with specific gels. Its name comes from the Roman goddess Claudia Metelli Celeris, belonging to one of the most important families of Rome, the Claudians, and better known as Clodia. Many tributes to the goddess have always been highlighted, but above all, her lips.

How is the Clodia© technique performed and which points are treated?

Dr. Natalia Ribé’s technique consists in the application of a specific gel with an ergonomic needle in the peribuccal area. The technique is performed with a 4-point injection: two in the upper lip and two in the lower lip, with a linear, retrograde and fan-shaped technique. Thus, with the same injection point the labial ridge, the bar code and the junction between mucosa and submucosa are worked.

The gel is composed of 3 hyaluronic acids to rejuvenate, give volume and contour to the lip, in a natural and lasting way, compensating the loss of tone, as well as the appearance of fine lines that increase over the years, in addition to redensify the skin of this delicate area. The composition contains 0.3% lidocaine anesthesia, making the treatment more comfortable for the patient.

In addition, it is a resorbable, biodegradable, sterile, viscoelastic, transparent and colorless product which, after clinical trials, has demonstrated great efficacy and safety. It is also the first hyaluronic acid product to demonstrate induction of new tissue as well as synthesis of new collagen and elastic fibers.

Who can undergo Clodia©?

Clodia© is intended for both men and women, with no age limit. Often thin lips are due to genetic inheritance. In other cases the loss of collagen occurs due to the natural aging of the skin or certain lifestyles (smoking, diet, climate, etc.), which can also contribute to the loss of volume and contour of the area.

How long do Clodia© results last?

Clodia© lasts for about 18 months, with high tolerance and practically no inflammatory nodules. It can usually be applied on any skin type and in patients with thin lips or poorly defined lip contour. Dr. Dr. Natalia Ribé recommends treatment once or twice a year to preserve the naturalness of the area.

Advice and care of the periorbuccal area after the intervention

After the treatment, Dr. Natalia Ribé recommends daily care of the area to be treated by applying a special serum for the periorbuccal area, with energizing active ingredients of instant effect and stem cells that repair and protect the area, delaying aging. This serum also contains arnica, a substance that facilitates the decongestion of the area, caffeine with lipolytic action and ruscus with toning effect.

In addition, Dr. Natalia Ribé advises to apply specific creams for this area because the skin is more delicate than other parts of the face and there are products that moisturize, tighten and improve the appearance.

Likewise, unhealthy habits such as smoking, stress or alcohol should also be avoided, as they generally alter the cells’ capacity for renewal, diminish their function and can release toxic substances through the organism that alter muscle and skin cells. Among these habits is the fact of taking care of our diet: avoid excesses, incorporate antioxidants to the diet, as they provide collagen to firm the skin. It is also very important to drink water and prevent fluid retention, reducing salt intake, and avoid drastic diets with rapid weight loss.

It is also necessary to be careful with sun exposure, always using appropriate sunscreens, both in winter and summer.

Another recommendation is techniques to improve circulation. Facial massages help blood circulation, provide nutrients for cell renewal and lymphatic drainage, which allows toxins to be eliminated.
