In what cases is laser vaginal rejuvenation performed?

Vaginal rejuvenation and its various techniques can be applied to any woman who needs to improve and restore the functionality of the vaginal tissue that has been weakened by post-partum trauma, episiotomies, skin pathologies, alterations after chemotherapy due to excessive dryness and lack of hormones and also post-menopause, where the vulvovaginal tissue is strongly weakened and can recover with these treatments.

How is laser vaginal rejuvenation performed?

The laser vaginal rejuvenation treatment is performed on a patient previously assessed gynecologically, where we observe that there is no contraindication to perform the same and is performed through a cylindrical endovaginal applicator that emits heat in the vaginal mucosa to cause stimulation of collagen formation, increased hydration and tissue improvement.

This treatment is performed without anesthesia, it can be tolerated perfectly, it is painless, the session can last around 5 to 10 minutes depending on each patient and the recovery of daily activity is immediate.

Three sessions are performed 4 weeks apart and during the first 7 days after each session it is advisable not to perform high impact physical exercise or sexual activity.

How are the results of vaginal rejuvenation?

The results are evident from the first session resulting in increased lubrication and tissue elasticity, decreased vaginal dryness and the formation of cracks in the vulva and vagina, reduction of pain with sexual intercourse and improvement of stress urinary incontinence in some patients. Also patients who have urinary urgency due to the absence of hormones improve with the restitution of the tissue and they can notice it in the first session.

This treatment can maintain its effects and results from 1 to 3 years depending on the age of the patient. The younger the patient is when the treatment is performed, it has been observed that the response and the result is better.
