Overcoming the feeling of loneliness

What defines the feeling of loneliness?

A feeling of emptiness, separation from the environment and excessive individualization.

What are the causes?

Some of them may be:

  • Fear of opening up
  • Fear of image
  • Fear of rejection

These fears cause a person to isolate him/herself. In short, fear of love can generate greater loneliness. People are desperate to love, but full of fear.

What can be done when a person feels lonely?

Specialists in Psychology understand that that moment is the ideal time for the patient to enter into the bowels of himself, to ask what he really wants, to be kind to oneself, to then simply be able to illuminate who you are. Also connect with pleasure: what things make me happy? What activities fulfill me?

Not everything has to come through someone else. It is important to develop self-reliance in order to have healthier and more prosperous relationships.

What are the risks of remaining in a state of loneliness?

Loneliness in itself is not bad, it is an opportunity to connect if we know how to do it. Chronic loneliness is unhealthy, because it isolates us, makes us suspicious, distrustful, selfish in the lack of interaction and full of fear. It also depresses us and makes our grief less bearable (much more bearable when shared), lulling us into a state of sadness, distrust, closure, defensiveness, from which it is more difficult to escape.
