Removes fat cells with cryolipolysis

Several years ago it was discovered that the cells that store fat in the body (adipocytes) are more sensitive to cold than the other cells around them. Thus, the principle of this technique is the elimination of fat cells by means of cold.

For which cases is it indicated?

First of all, it should be noted that cryolipolysis is not a means of slimming. It is a non-invasive method that, correctly combined with exercise and diet, can become an excellent way to recover the figure or, if you do not want to lose weight, to remove unwanted fat.

It cannot be performed in those people who have any disease related to cold, such as Reynaud’s disease. Nor if you suffer from any serious skin or systemic pathology.

What does the procedure consist of?

The technique can only be performed by doctors, who can work under the pressure and temperature conditions to achieve optimal results. At the Rosa Pulgar Clinic they work with the CoolTech® system.

The device applies a vacuum system to the treatment area that collapses the blood vessels and then begins to lower the temperature of the tissue. Once frozen, the fat cells die and will be progressively eliminated by the body.

The elimination of these cells (adipocytes) causes a reduction of the adipose panniculus, which can be seen from the fourth week after the treatment. The other cells do not suffer any damage.

Finally, it should be noted that the loss of volume is progressive and does not cause skin flaccidity. After the procedure, normal life can be resumed immediately, including work and sports.

How many sessions are necessary?

It is recommended to perform a couple of sessions in each treated area, spread over 5 weeks to visualize the results after two months.

A session lasts 70 minutes and does not require any type of anesthesia, since it is not painful (at most there is some discomfort).

The results will be permanent as long as the patient follows a diet, does physical exercise and has a stable weight.

Are there any side effects?

The technique may cause some mild side effects that disappear in a short time:

  • Moderate redness in the treated area, which may last minutes or hours.
  • Appearance of some localized bruising.
  • Tingling sensation or numbness, which may last 1 to 3 weeks.
