What are immediate implants?
Immediate implants, unlike conventional implants, are those implants with special characteristics that allow us to place the implant in the patient and for the patient to leave the office with the tooth already in place. This is always possible if we make a previous analysis of the patient’s bone and his or her personal medical characteristics.
What are the benefits of immediate implants?
The main benefit of immediate load implants is in those patients who have an esthetic compromise. For example, when there is a patient who has mobility of an anterior tooth, we can perform what is called an immediate implant, which consists of extracting the tooth and placing the implant in the same session. In addition, this patient will come out with immediate loading, which means that he or she will come out with the tooth already screwed to the dental implant. This is important because with conventional implants we have to wait for the integration period, that is, the healing of the bone around the implant, between 2 and 6 months. With immediate load implants there is no need to wait this time; the patient leaves the dental office with the implant and the dental piece in place.
What are composite veneers and how are they applied?
Composite veneers are a cosmetic dental technique that we use to change the shape, position and/or color of the patient’s teeth. The technique consists of making thin layers of a material called composite, which is a resin that is placed over the patient’s enamel until the desired length, the desired color or the desired shape is achieved. It is usually done in a single clinical session of 4 hours and the patient leaves the office with the smile design he/she expected.
