Reduce or eliminate pain with rhizolysis technique

Rhizolysis is a minimally invasive technique that, thanks to the application of radiofrequency, makes it possible to minimize or reduce pain in cases of herniated discs that do not require more aggressive surgical treatment.
Normally these are patients who present lumbar involvement of the articular facet and thanks to rhizolysis we manage to reduce or eliminate pain.

What is the objective of rhizolysis surgery?

Rhizolysis attempts to minimize or reduce pain secondary to herniated discs that do not require surgical treatment and there is no nerve involvement of the root.

What risks or contradictions can we find in surgery?

The side effects of rhizolysis are minimal, and if they exist they are due more to the puncture, that is, that there is no infection or hematoma due to the puncture. But in the long run the beneficial effects far outweigh the possible side effects.

In principle, rhizolysis can be applied to all patients who present cervical, dorsal or lumbar pain and whose pathology does not require a more aggressive surgical intervention.

When can normal activities be resumed after surgery?

Rhizolysis is an outpatient technique that lasts approximately one hour. The patient usually leaves on his own feet and can resume his activities immediately. The only care that must be taken is not to exert oneself and not to lift weights during the next four days. It is practically a technique that does not require any type of post-operative care.
