What are no-scalpel and needle-free vasectomy?

How is it different from conventional vasectomy?

The traditional vasectomy makes two cuts with a scalpel in the skin area of the testicles, whereas the no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomy does not make any cuts. The anesthesia is administered by means of a spray gun, which ensures the absence of pain, which is what most interests the patient at first, because men in general are not used to going to the doctor and even less to be operated on, therefore the less discomfort we can ensure, the better. Is a no-scalpel vasectomy reversible?

Yes, in general all vasectomies could be reversible if performed correctly. In addition, the no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomy is even more reversible because it is less aggressive: in fact, there is no ligation of the tubes, but only their obstruction, in order to avoid discomfort. For this reason, in case you want to rejoin the ducts, the procedure is easier to perform.

When can normal activities be resumed after surgery?

The no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomy is very gentle, so that normal activities can be resumed from the day of surgery. During the first week it is necessary to avoid efforts, that is why it is not advisable to perform physical activities, more specifically, sitting sports such as cycling, spinning or running. Does no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomy hurt and does it leave signs?

No. No-scalpel vasectomy does not hurt at all. The anesthesia is administered by spray, as mentioned above, because in general men are very afraid of pain and more in this area. It does not hurt at all and does not leave any sign. The orifice through which the operation is performed is so small that no stitches are needed, so that after a week or ten days it is completely closed and there is no sign that it has been operated on.

Are there any possible complications?

All vasectomies in general have some possibility of complications, the most frequent are infection and hematoma. However, the no-scalpel, no-needle vasectomy, as it does not cut or cut, but simply makes the intervention through a very small hole without aggression, does not present these complications. Unlike the traditional vasectomy, which lasts between ten and thirty minutes, the no-scalpel no needle vasectomy is much faster. In skilled hands it takes between 6 – 8 minutes, so the patient does not have time to suffer the anxiety typical of such a procedure.
