How is the aesthetic medical treatment of the chin using hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid provides great versatility and gives volume to the tissues, at the same time that it deeply hydrates them and also allows us to achieve very different results from different applications, using products of different densities for each specific area. The treatment presented in our study was performed with 5 ml of Volux and 1 ml of Voluma. Both are excellent products. While Volux is especially good for treating the chin and jaw bar area, since the structure of its molecule allows it to withstand traction without deforming, Voluma is a classic for the treatment of the face, especially the cheekbone, since its characteristics make it very resistant.
In addition, we will take advantage of this real case to clarify a generalized doubt about hyaluronic acid. There is a belief that all hyaluronic acid used in cosmetic medicine treatments is the same. However, hyaluronic acid is treated by laboratories to create different textures in the final products. The aim is to adapt each one to its use in a different type of tissue and thus optimize the results, using the most appropriate formulation for each area of the face.
So, the hyaluronic that we use for the cheekbone, in this case Voluma, has characteristics that make it very good for the place where Dr. Escoda has implanted it. However, it would not be appropriate for use in the treatment of other areas such as lips or dark circles. Therefore, a previous evaluation by an experienced professional is required.
On the other hand, for lips and dark circles there are other types of hyaluronic acids that are better adapted to these soft tissues.
