Capillary Growth Factor is an active hair biostimulation modality, based on the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), both therapeutic and preventive, and its objective is to activate the growth of new hair and to prevent possible loss of existing hair.
This minimally invasive treatment consists of the application by means of micro infiltrations in certain areas of the scalp, of “Plasma Rich in Growth Factors present in the patient’s own blood”.
The application of the Growth Factor in the hair follicle will facilitate, among other processes, the transformation of collagen type I into collagen type III and the appearance of new blood vessels, favoring the growth of new hair and the prevention of existing hair loss.
How is this treatment performed?
To begin with, a small amount of blood is extracted from the patient and then introduced into tubes with an anticoagulant to separate the plasma fractions by controlled centrifugation. This is followed by the use of plasma rich in growth factors whose cells contain alpha granules.
To avoid any possible discomfort to the patient, topical anesthesia or local cold may be used before starting the treatment. The number of therapies will vary depending on the patient’s hair loss, although usually between 2 and 3 sessions per year will be sufficient to stimulate the tissues and regrow hair.
What are the benefits?
Progressively the patient will be able to see the results. The use of PRP at the capillary level increases collagen formation and favors vascularization at the level of the hair follicle, thus gradually slowing down hair loss and reinforcing hair regeneration in patients with moderate hair loss.
Preparation and return to normality
To obtain the plasma rich in growth factors, a small blood collection from the patient is used and the plasma fractions are separated by controlled centrifugation. As mentioned above, anesthesia or local cold can be used to avoid any pain before starting the first stage of the treatment. Once the treatment is completed, normal life can be resumed immediately.
