What is an ultrasonic rhinoplasty and what does it consist of?

Ultrasonic rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting nasal deformities by modifying their shape, which leads to an improvement in facial balance and harmony.

The procedure is performed using an ultrasound device that allows filing and mobilizing the nasal bones without bleeding. As it is a less invasive method, we achieve that almost no hematomas appear in the postoperative period and that it is not necessary to place plugs.

There are two ways to perform this procedure:

  1. Closed rhinoplasty: It is performed through incisions inside the nostrils, so that no external scar is visible.
  2. Open rhinoplasty: It is used for those cases with a higher degree of difficulty. This type of intervention leaves a small scar almost imperceptible at the base of the columella.

The postoperative period of ultrasonic rhinoplasty is not painful and does not require painkillers. Only six days after the operation, the splint is removed, the visible swelling will have disappeared and the patient will be able to lead a normal life.
