Frequently asked questions before a hair transplant

What percentage of follicular units are extracted from the donor area?

The exact percentage of follicular units to be removed from the donor site is difficult to specify, as the availability of the number of follicular units available in the donor site varies from patient to patient.

Would I have to come again before the operation to be seen or would the first appointment we had be enough?

In principle, it would not be necessary for you to visit us again, but if you wish, we will be happy to see you.

Do you do full-head scaling on the patient?

Dr. Seiadatan does not shave his patients completely, he only shaves the donor area, that is, the back of your head and sides. In this way, between 7-10 days, the hair in that area has a length of approximately 1 cm and the patient can resume his normal life without attracting attention.

How long does the operation usually last?

The duration of each intervention depends on the characteristics of each patient (ease of extraction, skin elasticity, etc), an estimate for 1500UF is 17.30 (we start at 08.15AM).

Will the final result be natural and is the operated area completely covered?

The process itself is very discreet. Keep in mind that after the surgery, the transplanted hair and follicular units will fall out as the follicles go into a resting phase. Subsequently, as soon as the follicles start growing again, they will generate new hairs, which will grow progressively. Generally, patients appreciate the change when comparing photographs, because when they see themselves in the mirror every day and because it is such a progressive change, they forget the state they were in before the intervention.

When are the results visible? Are the results safe or does the hair fall out again after the graft?

The follicular units that are extracted come from areas that are not influenced by the hormones that cause hair loss and atrophy of the follicles, so the transplanted hair generally does not fall out. However, survival cannot be guaranteed if it subsequently suffers from a systemic disease that causes it to fall out.

When is it possible to do sports after the graft?

The patient will be able to practice sports around the 5th day after the intervention, taking into account that they must be individual training, not collective sports, and that do not require exaggerated efforts, such as weight lifting and great efforts.
