In our angioma unit we see many children with vascular lesions from birth, it is very important the correct diagnosis, many times they arrive misdiagnosed. And the treatment will depend on when we decide to apply it; it is much more effective in the first weeks or months of life. Therefore, the sooner the child comes for consultation the better.
How is the treatment applied in the case of hemangiomas?
In the case of hemangiomas, oral or topically applied drugs are used. And in the case of vascular malformations and sometimes also in hemangiomas, laser is applied.
How is the treatment?
The laser in our center we are fortunate to have anesthesiologists and therefore perform these treatments without pain, under sedation, obtaining very good results in the first months of life. Our goal is to ensure that before the child is three years old, the child goes to school in the best possible clinical situation.
