The dual microfractionated laser resurfacing

The laser expert Dr. Ciscar Gracia explains the different pathologies that she treats and the use of the Dual Microfractionated Laser.

What signs of aging can be treated with photomedicine?

The different laser and photorejuvenation techniques allow us to quickly and effectively improve the signs of aging such as spots, wrinkles, a dull and thickened skin texture, lack of luminosity and firmness… They allow us to give a more uniform and youthful appearance to the skin of the face, hands or décolleté.

What does a Dual Microfractionated Laser session consist of?

This treatment arises from the synergy of two widely contrasted technologies:

  • On the one hand, the DeepFx microablative carbon dioxide laser, with a wavelength of 10600 nanometers that produces a sweep over the entire area with small columns of heat of 120 microns in diameter.
  • On the other hand, pulsed light with a filter of 530-750 nanometers optimum range for photorejuvenation.

Can several signs be attacked at the same time?

It is a dual treatment because it acts at two levels:

  • At the epidermal level: it causes a renewal effect at the points where the impact hits, the fractional laser allows to treat skin fractions, 120 microns in this case, leaving the surrounding area intact to promote rapid recovery. In addition, the combination with pulsed light will unify the skin tone, eliminating superficial pigmented spots.
  • At the dermal level: By penetrating deeply, the columns of heat trigger the physiological wound healing processes, promoting dermal microcirculation. The thermal effect of these columns of heat stimulates the synthesis of neocollagen and the contraction of its bands causing the so-called “tightening”, i.e. the immediate tightening effect.

The most avant-garde aspect of this protocol is the combination of two technologies that combine their effects and offer visible results from the 4th day.

It is a treatment increasingly demanded also by men, as its benefits are noticeable from 35 years of age in both sexes, for people who have lost elasticity in the skin due to repeated sun exposure or smoking, among other causes.

What care should be taken after the session?

After the sessions it is necessary to use a correct Skin Care at home and to apply the appropriate sun protection.

The patient presents redness and swelling during the first days but recovery is fast.

3-4 monthly sessions are scheduled to obtain a greater restructuring of the collagen and elastin network.

Post-treatment care is personalized and if necessary we combine it with other medical-aesthetic techniques such as botulinum toxin or mesoplasty, which allow us to optimize results.
