What is the key to the success of your results?
In our Institute, harmony and naturalness are the basis for recommending any treatment. We study skin genetics, the current degree of aging and make a nutritional and lifestyle study. We look for integral beauty by offering solutions with treatment planning. The combination of these will be key in obtaining the final success.
It is also essential to take into account that the entire medical team of the Javier de Benito Institute carries out individual planning in each of its areas, in order to achieve yearly maintenance of the results so that the patient achieves the desired objective in the first visits. Always looking for the naturalness and harmony of the face.
What is the most frequent treatment in Aesthetic Medicine for rejuvenation?
In our Institute we created and developed the Silhuette Soft Sutures. Innovative treatment, with an immediate lifting effect. They are polylactic acid threads with anchors that will help us to mark tension lines, firstly mechanically, since the thread tightens in the direction we want to give, and secondly a more physical or biological traction since over time they will induce collagen synthesis, so we will have a completely natural traction. We can place them according to the need to tighten cheeks, mark cheekbone, jaw line, eyebrows or neck. The sutures are reabsorbable. To place them we apply local anesthesia and it takes about 30 minutes. The patient can return to his or her social life immediately.
This treatment combined with others, such as hyaluronic acid fillers and botulinum toxin, for example, will be a guaranteed victory when we are looking for a major rejuvenation.
Do you recommend any other type of treatment?
I recommend at least once a year to have a photo-rejuvenation treatment with pulsed light. It is a rejuvenation with light, a modern system that eliminates pigmented spots (from the sun, age ….) and redness, such as couperose or small telangiectasias, without causing flaking or crusting, so you can lead a normal life with a protection factor and a little makeup if necessary. The heat generated in the skin by this treatment increases the synthesis of collagen and closes pores, so the benefit is very evident. It improves the color, the appearance. We return to have a clean and young skin. Another treatment with which we can improve skin quality is with small injections of vitamin cocktails, amino acids, hyaluronic acid, etc. I usually combine it with soft peels (vitamin C, ferulic, azelaic….) that remove dead cells from the last layers of the epidermis without causing an unpleasant and unnecessary peeling. With this treatment we get to give vigor to the skin, light and tension. These are treatments that we should be doing. It is the same as taking oral vitamins in spring… you always get an improvement and it has a preventive character.
What are the most obvious signs of facial aging?
Loss of volume and flaccidity. We find signs of aging such as loss of volume in the cheeks that makes us look older and unhealthy, the corner of the mouth loses its original shape and downward lines are marked, called marionette lines, which are aging and unsightly. The eye area is affected by dark circles or bags, the upper eyelid begins to droop and periocular wrinkles also called “crow’s feet” abound giving a tired and sad appearance. There is a loss of definition of the jaw line and depressions appear in the jowls giving a heavy appearance. The furrow that forms between the nose and mouth deepens and promotes a tired appearance. Wrinkles between the eyebrows are pronounced as if we were angry.
