Advantages of performing a T.A.C

The C.A.T. (Computerized Axial Tomography) is a precise and reliable diagnostic imaging test with which the dental specialist / stomatologist can determine exactly, before an intervention, the exact location of an implant, exodontia (tooth extraction) or in any intervention to know exactly the oral anatomy.

The accuracy of this radiological test is such that implantologists opt for it because they can know exactly the bone quality, height and width of available bone. It also provides us with the necessary information for cases of included canines, tumors, cysts, etc.

How is a CAT scan performed?

The test is performed in a Radiological Center, the patient will have to provide a referral from your dentist / stomatologist indicating the area to be treated.

The CAT scan is an X-ray scan that collects detailed images of the body, because as it rotates around the patient, multiple images are obtained that the computer groups to form a final image that shows the area to be analyzed.

It is a painless test that lasts approximately five minutes and is performed with the patient lying on the CT table, in the case of helical CT, and standing or sitting if the test is performed in a Cone Beam CT. In helical CT the table will move according to the area of the body that the specialist must study.

Advantages of CT

It is an accurate, fast and non-invasive test that allows precise implant placement because it allows a detailed view of bones, soft tissues and blood vessels. It facilitates the diagnosis, in addition to reducing the time of the intervention by knowing the exact location of the implant placement and knowing the exact anatomical conditions.
