How to avoid caesarean section with acupuncture

When there are fetal malposition, in which there is a breech or transverse presentation, we can avoid cesarean section through acupuncture, getting the fetus to fit for a vaginal delivery (euthyroid). Acupuncture can prevent many cesarean sections, at a high rate.

To make sure that everything happens optimally during pregnancy, blood and energy are needed. The moment one of the two fails, the fetus may not acquire the necessary posture for delivery, or it may not stay “in place”.

For all these reasons, it is important that the expectant mother knows this technique (between 28 and 38 weeks), to have enough time and give the fetus the option to take a good position for the birth.

What does the technique consist of?

This is a very simple technique that was used many years ago in traditional Chinese medicine.

Through some rolls of Artemisia Vulgaris, similar to a cigar, also known as “moxa”, it is applied on an acupuncture point located on the foot, achieving, probably, the repositioning of the baby in a few sessions. The indicated point is located on the bladder meridian, which surrounds the uterus. The technique is known as “moxibustion”.

The results at Dr. de Legorburu’s office are very satisfactory and, according to several studies, it is estimated that the procedure avoids cesarean sections in 80% of the cases.

Do you know Artemisia Vulgaris?

It is an aromatic plant, which in ancient times was used as a condiment or medicine. The name comes from the Greek goddess Artemis, protector of women, wild nature, childbirth and pregnant women.
