It is considered that one in six couples actively seeking pregnancy will have problems conceiving. Therefore, our recommendation, the recommendation of all the scientific societies is that the period in which help is to be sought should not be prolonged, that is to say, for more than a year of seeking pregnancy, help should be sought from a center. In some cases this period should even be shorter. In women over 35 years of age or in women who already have a previous gynecological pathology, such as endometriosis or polycystic ovary, this period should never be longer than six months.

Given the growing tendency to delay motherhood, it is important to know that there is the possibility of freezing eggs, called vitrification, to preserve fertility. It is important to do it before the age of 35 and at the latest at the age of 38, and to be able to freeze a minimum of 15 oocytes, and then in the future with them have the possibility of between 50 and 35% of pregnancy.
When other assisted reproduction treatments fail, the woman is menopausal, or genetic diseases can be transmitted to the children, there is the possibility of using donor eggs, which is called ovodonation. The young and healthy donor, after an extensive study, anonymously donates her eggs, so that another recipient woman can achieve a pregnancy in up to 60% of cases.

The psychology unit at FIV Madrid has two main objectives. The first is to provide psychological support and counseling to all patients who require it, whether they are heterosexual couples, single women or lesbian couples. The second objective is research, where the psychology unit is very active, in order to find out how patients undergoing assisted reproduction treatment are feeling and to know how best to help them.

In FIV Madrid we offer the male our andrology laboratory for those who, either out of curiosity or to complement a diagnosis, want to know the quality of their semen. It is not necessary to be an assisted reproduction patient or one of our patients.
