Hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate the face

The quality of life and advances in medicine and dentistry have lengthened the average life span of Spaniards, and although the average age increases, the physical appearance over the years, in most cases is compromised.

Facial imperfections that can be corrected are furrows and wrinkles, which appear as a consequence of dehydration and skin aging, thin lips and lip asymmetry.

This can be done through cheek augmentation, gummy smile and nasolabial fold correction.

Hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate the face

One of the techniques indicated for the correction of facial imperfections is the resorbable facial filler through the infiltration of hyaluronic acid. It is a polysaccharide present in numerous tissues and organs of our body: in the cartilage, in the synovial fluid of the joints, in our epidermis and even in the connective tissue that supports the spinal column. It helps us to attract and hold water as it provides large doses of hydration.

The result obtained is the remodeling of the facial contour, by correcting fine wrinkles and furrows. In this way, volume is given to certain areas of the face, such as the lips and the malar zygomatic area.

It is also widely used in moisturizing the skin and improving the absorption of liquids from the cells, preventing premature aging of the skin. In addition, it prevents eye diseases, maintaining good eye health, and helps to strengthen ligaments and tendons, as well as to recover tissue.

Advantages of hyaluronic acid treatment

  • Hydration: capacity to attract and retain water.
  • Renewal of cells, their division and proliferation.
  • Anti-aging and anti-aging.
  • Regenerating potential.
  • Regeneration of the epidermis is accompanied by cell proliferation.
  • Enhancement of lost tissue such as lips, bar code, correction of nasolabial depressions and perioral wrinkles, gummy smile, nasolabial fold, etc.

Application of hyaluronic acid

There are two ways to apply hyaluronic acid:

  • Topical form: as a normal skin cream. At the Toro Mattozzi Dental Clinic we elaborate our own cream, which contains a 40% concentration of hyaluronic acid. It works by penetrating at three levels: mild, medium and deep.
  • Subcutaneous form; by means of small subcutaneous infiltrations, we apply the hyaluronic acid to revitalize, rejuvenate and hydrate the skin tissue.

In addition, after finishing our treatment, either dental rehabilitation or correction of dental malocclusion with different orthodontic treatments, we can perform in the clinic itself the so-called lip profile and lip augmentation.

Results of hyaluronic acid

Lip profiling and lip augmentation by subcutaneous infiltration lasts between 9 months and a year, depending on the patient’s hydration, so we must hydrate ourselves well throughout the day!

Side effects of hyaluronic acid

Generally, with the use of resorbable hyaluronic acid we have almost no side effects. In some cases there may be misplacement or misuse by the dental specialist who places it.

Differences between hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin

Basically, hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin have different functions. For example, we cannot immobilize a muscle with hyaluronic acid but we can with Botox. With hyaluronic acid we try to correct wrinkles by regenerating and repairing the tissue, while with botulinum toxin we immobilize the tissue so that the wrinkle does not grow and the expression marks do not show.

In our clinic we prevent and treat all possible irregularities that prevent us from having an ideal smile from the functional and aesthetic point of view, so from diagnosis to the conclusion of the treatment we seek that the patient is completely satisfied.
