What is foot pain?

Foot pain is an unpleasant or annoying sensation that can be felt in any part of the foot, such as the arch, the heel, the sole, the instep or the toes, which generates discomfort and discomfort to the patient, due to the fact that when walking he/she feels small pricks that cause color.

The following measures are recommended to prevent foot problems:

  • Wear comfortable, well-fitting shoes
  • Wear sneakers as often as possible (especially when walking).
  • Avoid narrow-toed shoes and high heels.
  • Change running shoes frequently
  • Increase the amount of exercise progressively
  • Warm up and cool down when exercising.
  • Learn exercises to strengthen your feet and avoid pain.
  • Losing weight (if necessary)

Treatment depends on the cause of the pain:

  • Splinting (fracture)
  • Shoes that protect the feet
  • Removal of plantar warts or calluses
  • Orthopedic shoes or insoles
  • Physical therapy
