What is auriculotherapy?
Auriculotherapy is a type of treatment that has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and comes from Acupuncture.
This technique is based on stimulating a series of points that exist in the ear with the objective of diagnosing and treating a specific pain, because it is based on the theory that in the ear there is a representation of the parts of the organism. In this way, by stimulating specific points in the ear it is possible to treat any physical or emotional pathology.

What does it consist of?
Auriculotherapy treatment is performed by puncturing the respective points in the ear. To perform the puncture, disposable stainless steel surgical needles are used, which are inserted a few millimeters below the skin. These signals, which are induced through the insertion of the needles, are transmitted to the corresponding body part from a specific area of the brain.
Preparation for auriculotherapy
To perform an auriculotherapy treatment, the specialist must know the characteristics of the patient through the clinical history. In this way, a diagnosis can be made in order to prepare the therapy.
Aftercare after the procedure
After the auriculotherapy sessions, it is very important that the patient follows the recommendations of the specialist in order to increase the effectiveness of the treatment, because auriculotherapy alone cannot solve the problems that the patient may have.
Alternatives to this treatment (other more advanced treatments)
An alternative to auriculotherapy treatment is acupuncture which, in some cases, are two complementary techniques.
