Tensile Threads

What are tensor threads?

The tensor threads are fine threads used in Aesthetic Medicine to rejuvenate the face. They can be applied to eliminate wrinkles and facial flaccidity, as well as to lift the eyebrows or even to redefine the oval of the face and the contour of the jaw.

There are two types of tensor threads:

  • Permanent, which are made of propylene.
  • Temporary, made with dioxanone, material that after about two years is reabsorbed by the body without the need for any operation.

The use of tensor threads achieves a lifting effect on the face without the need to undergo surgery.

Why are they performed?

The treatment with tensor threads is performed to:

  • Disguise wrinkles around the eyes.
  • Lift the cheeks.
  • Reaffirm the neck.
  • Raise eyebrows.
  • Give symmetry to the face.
  • Firm the facial contour.
  • Fade forehead wrinkles.

What does it consist of?

It is a skin tightening treatment based on the implantation of several micro threads in the form of a network by the specialist. This network acts as a support for the tissues causing the instantaneous firming effect and favoring the natural production of collagen.

The surgery with tensor threads requires the realization of small incisions through which the threads are grafted to move them and place them in the tissue of the desired area until they are fixed in the position marked by the surgeon.

Post-procedure care

The post-treatment may be somewhat uncomfortable. The patient may experience swelling for a few days, as well as heat in the area or even a small hematoma. However, there is usually no discomfort whatsoever.
